Common Faults

This page provides guidance on common faults experienced by users attempting to connect to, or use services of Insignia Live.

Dashboard DNS Reset

If you're using a modified console with a custom dashboard, your DNS settings will likely reset when you load the custom dashboard.

To clarify, If you set DNS settings on the Microsoft Dashboard, those settings will not be used when you load your custom dashboard.

You must manually configure your custom dashboards network settings. Ensure that the Insignia Live DNS of 46.101.64.175 is used.

You should also configure your secondary DNS to either 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8.

Some custom dashboards will allow you to pass through network configuration from the Microsoft Dashboard, but not all.

We strongly encourage you to read the Unleash X & Other Dashboards guide if you're having ongoing issues.

Backup DNS: Backup DNS in case the main DNS server is down 129.80.250.17

HDD Patched Game Installs

Many users have reported problems connecting to other players due to using HDD-patched games.

HDD Installed game rips can work. However, you must ensure that the game content is unmodified.

Patches applied by tools like DVD2XBOX will cause issues.

You must turn off ACL patching when you rip a game to your HDD.

Nulled HDD Keys

If you have nulled your Xbox HDD Key on a modified console, you will be unable to connect to Insignia Live.

Configure an HDD Key to connect; this can be made up of custom digits. No specific or unique key is required.

After configuring a key, you should be able to connect.

Altering your HDD Key after completing sign up will cause issues with connectivity.

Unable To Login

If you're unable to login with an existing Insignia account, you should Clear Your Ticket Cache using the Insignia Setup Assistant in the first instance.
