Unleash X & Other Dashboards

This page provides guidance on common issues when using Unleash X and other homebrew dashboards with Insignia Live.

Acknowledgement: This guide was based on the #support-forum post by Harcroft#4547.

Caution: We strongly advise you to read the entire article before attempting to implement it.

Critical: The Addendums are critical for almost all Unleash X users.

Clear Your Cache

If the Microsoft Xbox Live Connection Test shows four green lights, and you're still unable to connect to Insignia (Xbox) Live, run the Insignia Setup Assistant and select the "Clear Ticket Cache" option.

Modified Installs & Bad Rips

You you clear your cache, and you're still unable to connect from in-game, it is likely that you have a bad game rip.

Modified Installs: Please note that modified installations of games are not supported by Insignia Live.

Additional Troubleshooting

We recommend following these steps if you're utilising a custom (homebrew) Xbox Dashboard.

  1. Go to your Microsoft Xbox Dashboard settings, and take a picture or write down your current network settings.

  2. Go to your Unleash X (or other) custom dashboard and change your network settings from DHCP to Static.

  3. Save your network settings and restart the dashboard.

  4. Go back to your Unleash X (or other) custom dashboard network settings and update all fields to reflect the network settings you captured in step one.

  5. For the DNS settings, set your primary DNS to 46.101.64.175 and the secondary DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8.

  6. Save your network settings and restart the dashboard.

  7. Go to your Microsoft Xbox Dashboard Settings and verify that those settings match the settings you just configured for your Unleash X (or other) custom dashboard network settings.

  8. If your settings match, you should conduct a connection test to verify.

  9. If your settings do not match, you should switch the IP and DNS configuration to the manual, and update all fields to reflect the network settings you applied in steps 4 and 5. Run a connection test to verify after making the changes.

Addendums:

  • If UnleashX displays two different IP addresses, ping or connects to the console via FTP on both addresses. Whichever address responds to ping or allows FTP access is the correct one.

  • If the gateway UnleashX is displaying does not work, and your computer is on the same network, use the default gateway from your computer. It should be the internal IP address of your modem/router.

EvolutionX/Evox dashboard installs a memory-resident stub that interferes with online connectivity; it is highly recommended to switch to another dashboard.
